HEALTH & SAFETY ON SOCCER ISLAND

Due to Covid-19, we have been diligently working to make necessary modification to our curriculum and current operating procedures to ensure a safe experience on Soccer Island. You will see our coaches making adjustments to our regular routine to continue to keep safety our top priority. Additionally, all coaches will complete a mandatory health and safety course before returning to coaching

During our sessions your coach will:

• Avoid high-fives, fist bumps and unnecessary physical contact
• Wear a face covering if our state and/or local jurisdiction requires or recommends doing so
• Use rings, spots or orange cones as “home base” to keep children spread out when possible
• Request that equipment be cleaned up and put away only by the coach
• Continue to remind children of the importance of keeping safe distances when practicing skills, by mentioning to “keep your distance so you don’t bump into your friends”
• Avoid the use of pinnies
• Use a modified individualized Soccer Shots cheer at the end of the session

We are requesting that families attending in-person sessions follow these guidelines for the health and safety of other families and coaches:

• Wash or sanitize hands before entering Soccer Island (we recommend singing the Soccer Shots song while doing so – ask your children if you need help with the words!)
• Adhere to state and/or local jurisdiction regarding face-covering requirements. All adults helping to supervise the children must be wearing a face covering.
• Practice social distancing by trying to stay 6 feet away from others that do not live in your household
• Stay home when you are sick and keep your children home from soccer if they are sick (we’ll miss them on Soccer Island, but we want them to be healthy!)
• If attending a Mini session (ages 2-3), we ask that only one family member per child be present on Soccer Island

Again, we are focused on the health and safety of your child. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for children to maintain activity and learning.

We will closely monitor all communication from the WHO and CDC as well as local authorities for safety updates.

Credit and Refund Policy – Spring 2021

In our effort to consider children and families that are enrolled in our programs, and also our staff and coaches, the following policies are active for credits and refunds:

Spring 2021 - We are hopeful and planning that our Spring Soccer Shots season will be able to be completed in person. However, in the event that Soccer Shots in-person sessions cannot continue due to local or federal restrictions, we will replace the remaining sessions with our online videos. The complete set of videos will be offered (10 sessions) regardless of how many sessions were cancelled. 10 weeks of videos are valued at $75. We will issue credit to your Soccer Shots account balance for the in person sessions that were cancelled (minus the $75 for the 10 videos). Credits can be used at any future site or season within the Bergen County West Soccer Shots territory and may be used for any child. We will not issue any refunds related to not being able to continue with Soccer Shots in-person sessions.

• Withdrawal - If you are requesting a withdrawal from a class a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start of the season, you will receive a refund back to the payment source minus a $25 processing fee.
• Enrollment Fee - There is no refund of the enrollment fee that is charged once every year defined as a school year (Sept – June).
• Attendance - There are NO Refunds or credits for non-attendance at a scheduled class. Due to the pandemic we will NOT be offering makeup classes for non-attendance of a scheduled class.

Make-Up Classes & Cancellations:

• During spring season of 8 – 10 weeks, whenever possible, we will attempt to make up a maximum of 2 classes due to inclement weather (snow, ice, thunder/lighting….etc). If the season is shorter than 8 weeks, we will attempt to make up 1 class due to inclement weather.
• Make-up classes may be held on a different day or time than the regularly scheduled class. If a make-up is cancelled due to weather, it will not be rescheduled.
• Soccer Shots reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment. Upon cancellation, a full refund will be made.
• Soccer Shots shall assume no liability whatsoever in the event a class is cancelled, rescheduled or postponed due to a fortuitous event, Act of God, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of classes impracticable, illegal or impossible. For purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but not be limited to: war, fire, earthquake, labor strike, extreme weather, pandemic, or other emergency.

Weather

• We play in the rain, we play in the cold. We will NOT play in the cold rain.
• If a field is deemed unsafe by a coach, class will be rescheduled. If a field is deemed safe, then the class will run.

Arrival & Dismissal Policy:

• Parents are required to stay with their children, or have a responsible adult at class for the entire session. These are not drop off classes.
